There's Still Time to Save
Don't worry if you missed the May 31st deadline for spring renewal discounts. If you renew your CFS software by August 31st, you will still receive:

New Payroll System Utilities
The latest update of Payroll System adds three new utilities that can assist you in validating SSNs and TINs prior to filing payroll and/or information returns, thus avoiding potential errors:
Create SSN Verification Upload File... creates a file to upload to SSA SSN Verification Service, allowing the user to validate employee SSN/name pairs before filing payroll returns and/or W-2s. The user must sign up for the service on the SSA Business Services Online (BSO) website. The service uses the same login used by W-2 e-filers; however, it is a separate service that they must activate after logging in.
Create IRS Bulk TIN Matching File... creates a file to submit to the IRS to validate TIN/name pairs of contractors (1099 recipients) before filing 1099s. Users must sign up for the service on the IRS e-Services website. (Note: this is a separate application from the one used for 941 e-filing.)
Read IRS Bulk TIN Matching Results File... reads and summarizes the TIN matching results file downloaded from IRS e-Services.
If you have updated to the latest version of Payroll System, the above utilities are available from the Utilities menu. For more information, see the Payroll System Help file.
CFS Tip: "Tips and Tricks..."
A "Tips and Tricks..." item has been added to the Help menu in the latest updates of TaxTools and Small Business Tools. Clicking on it will display a short list of hints to help you get the most out of the program.
"Tips and Tricks" are organized into the following categories:
- Client List
- Module Library
- Client Folder
- Module Menus
- Tax Planner
Make sure you have updated to the latest versions of TaxTools and Small Business Tools so you have access to this new feature.
