Fall renewal notices are in the mail.
You may have already received your fall renewal/confirmation notice; if not, you should be receiving it soon. If you haven't yet renewed your CFS software, please consider the following benefits of renewing now:
- Avoid the stress of having to place your order when your office and ours are at their busiest.
- Resolve potential software or hardware problems before tax season begins by installing and testing your software early.
To log in to your MyCFS account and renew online, click here, and use Coupon Code FALL2494 to take advantage of the W4 Calculator/Tax Corresponder offer. If you have already renewed, thank you for doing so—and thank yourself for making your life a little easier this tax season!
* If you have already renewed early and want to take advantage of this offer, please contact us here.
Don't forget to inspect your order!
Those of you who have already ordered tax forms and other supplies, please make sure you inspect your order as soon as you receive it. Verify that we sent you the correct items, and that there is nothing you forgot to order. Also, keep in mind that items are sometimes damaged in transit.
Remember—our supplies return policy covers you for 30 days after you receive your order, but tax forms cannot be returned for refund after December 15th.
W2/1099 and Payroll Corrector are available for download.
W2/1099 and Payroll Corrector 2010 have been released and are available for downloading.
If you have already purchased and installed 941/940 or LivePayroll 2010, you do not need a CD or a full program download to install either W2/1099 or Payroll Corrector. Simply select "Update from the Web" from the "Internet Options" menu of Payroll System 2010 or select "Software Updates" from the "Downloads" menu at TaxTools.com to download and install from our web site. However, you must be sure to update your license code. We receive many calls from customers who are unable to access W2/1099 simply because they have not updated their license code. You can obtain your license code by logging in to your MyCFS account.
For tips on using W2/1099, including detailed instructions on how to obtain and update your license code, see the Year-end Forms Filing Tips for W-2s and 1099s video on our Instructional Videos page.
Note: CDs and forms starter kits will be mailed in October or November to those customers who are to receive them.
Do we have your current address?
We send out a lot of mail to customers this time of year, and we inevitably end up having a lot of it returned to us because of incorrect addresses. Often, this is the only way we find out that a customer has moved.
It's easy to notify us of a change of address. Just log in to your MyCFS account and select "Name/Address Change," or click here. Or, if you prefer, you can fax your change of address to 805-522-0187 or e-mail it to email@example.com. Be sure to include your customer number.
Don't let an incorrect address cause the delay of your software or supplies!
2011 per diem rates have been released.
The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) has released the federal domestic per diem rate table for fiscal year 2011. The rate table is used by employers and the self-employed for business travel within the continental United States. The per diem rate varies according to locality of travel, with the maximum rate for locations not listed in the table being $77 for lodging and $46 for meals and incidentals. The table can be downloaded in Excel format from www.gsa.gov/perdiem.
Per diem rates are just one of the many types of tables, charts, and other information that can be found in CFS Quick Reference Guide. Other information includes—
- Exemptions and Standard Deductions;
- Tax Rate Schedules;
- Standard Mileage Rates;
- Lease Inclusion Tables;
- Depreciation Tables - ACRS, MACRS, and Pre-1981;
- Social Security/Medicare Tax Rates;
- And much more!
—all in an easily-searched electronic format. If you don't already have CFS Quick Reference Guide, now is a great time to buy it—you can get both the 2010 and 2011 versions for just $39! Click here to order!
It's seminar season!
Tax seminars are extremely important to our business. They keep us informed of changes in the industry, allow customers to give us feedback, and give us the opportunity to demonstrate our software to potential customers so that they can see for themselves how well our programs work. Customers who purchase CFS software at a seminar benefit from our generous seminar discount plus free shipping. For a list of some of the seminars we will be attending this season, click here. (Spidell Publishing, Inc., seminars are listed separately, here; Back-to-Basics seminars are listed here.)
