CFS Research Program Setup Instructions
If you have previously installed the program, the program should automatically update
(see Updating from Previous Release, below). If this is a first-time installation,
you will need to input your customer license code during installation (see First
Time Installation, below).
Updating from Previous Release
- Close all running Windows applications.
- Insert the CFS Research CD into the computer's CD-ROM drive.
- The Auto-Update program should run automatically, updating the program to the latest
release.
If Auto-Update doesn't start automatically...
- Click on the Windows Start button and select Run...
- In the Open box, type D:\SETUP AUTOUPDATE (where D: is your CD-ROM drive) and click
OK.
- The program will be updated to the new release.
First Time Installation
When prompted, key in your customer information and license code exactly as they
appear on the mailing label or receipt. You must enter the correct license code
to activate the software you have purchased, and your firm name must match the firm
name on the label or receipt in order for the license code to work. If the names
do not match, call or fax CFS to have your firm name updated and a new license code
issued.
- Close all running Windows applications.
- Insert the CFS Research CD into the computer's CD-ROM drive.
- The Setup program should start automatically. It will guide you through the rest
of the installation.
If Setup doesn't start automatically...
- Click on the Windows Start button and select Run...
- In the Open box, type D:\SETUP (where D: is your CD-ROM drive) and click OK.
- The Setup program will guide you through the rest of the installation.
Demo Mode
If you have not purchased the program, you may install it in demo mode by typing
DEMO in the License Code field. You will have 30 days to use the program, after
which it will expire. If you decide to purchase it, you may call CFS and obtain
a new license code. (You will need to re-run the setup program to enter your new
license code. See First Time Installation, above.)
Help
An extensive user manual is contained in a Folio™ infobase library accessed from
the Help menu. As with the other infobases in CFS Research programs, the Help infobase
may be searched by query, and topics may be selected for printing.
